Beginners guide to the Auction House

Dear players, you are here to seek for the help which is the purpose of this guide when the economy in World of Warcraft is taken into account. By using this guide you will be educated of using all powerful Auction House and making the best purchase and bargain. Let’s see what the Auction House is and how it works.

The players of mmorpgs are also envious of the WoW’s Auction House as it is the best solution for the players. Auction Houses are also abbreviated as AHs and they can be located in the capital cities according to the old map of Azeroth: Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, and Exodar on the Aliance side and Undercity, Thunderbluff, Orgimmar, and Silvermoon City for the Horde side.

Use of the Auction House

As soon as you get to the AH, you need to click on one of the Auctioneers. You can search through the categories of items and goods that are located at the left side. The enlisted sub-categories make your search easier when you click on the Weapons as an example. The upper frame indicates a text box that shows Name, Level – Range and also a drop down menu that says All. Once you click the All tab, you could specify your search as poor, common, uncommon, rare or epic items according to your quality of the item that you search for. If you want to search through all, you need to click on the Search button that is located at the right side by leaving it as it is. Since there are so many items on the AH, searching through all items is not a good idea as there are chances of losing. Type the exact name of the item that you desired for in the Name text box and click on Search, and you will come across the current list of all available items shown by the AH. The link given at the down side will help you in going to the next page/pages.

The option, that is, armor and weapons will allow you to see how an item would look on you. You will be able to see it by holding the CTRL key and left click on the given item. This option is generally known as “the dressing room”. Check the price before you buy the item and make sure for it. The selected item’s maximum price is the Buyout price, and you can click on the Buyout button that is given at the bottom of the AH window for purchasing the given item instantly.

As soon as you see the first price, you can bid on the item. By clicking on the Bid button which is present at the bottom of the AH window, you can bid. Of course, you can bid on the cheaper priced item, but keep in mind that the other players will also do the same and it will be a long follow-up. If somebody outbids you for the amount of gold that you bade on, then your given amount will be returned to you via mail. As soon as the particular auction expires, the item will be sent to you via mail on the condition that you managed to buy the item without being outbid.

If you would like to sell an item, click on the Auctions tab on the left side at the bottom of the AH window. Place an item in the Auction item slot; fill in the Starting price and the Buyout price and the check the length of your Auction duration. You can put 12 hours for short, 24 hours for long and 48 hours for very long auction. It is advisable that you check the prices on the same item before you make your own auction, lower your price a bit and then put it on. If the item is sold you will get the gold on your email with a small percentage fee that the AH takes. If the item isn’t sold it will return to you when the auction expires.

You could always monitor your bids and auctions by clicking on the Bids and Auctions tabs.
