Holiday Parks In Cornwall: Relaxing In The South

Cornwall is one of the UK’s top holiday destinations. With its warm climate and stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches, it attracts millions of visitors every year. Many of those opt for self-catering and for those that like a little independence as well as a sense of community, there are dozens of holiday parks in Cornwall.

There are holiday parks peppered across the county. And within a wealth of different environments, from wide open fields, and large wooded areas to cliff tops overlooking beaches and the sea. Accommodation on offer also comes in a wide variety of forms including static caravans, chalets, lodges and log cabins. Whatever the type of accommodation, the facilities inside are invariably very modern, with fully equipped kitchens with fridge and cooker at the very least.

The living areas tend to have a TV as well as comfy furniture to relax on. Sometimes the lounge area is also used for meals. Many units are equipped with gas and electricity and have central heating for those chilly nights. Bed linen is provided, although holiday makers may need to bring their own towels.

Holiday parks have facilities for use by all staying in the park, such as shops, bars, restaurants and laundrettes. And many parks have outdoor swimming pools, indoor pools and sports facilities, like tennis courts. Equipment hire is often on offer for those who don’t own their own. Cycle paths around the park can be found in larger ones, which often also have bikes for rent.

The majority of holiday parks are geared towards family holidays. Parents can often have some time to themselves, as kids’ clubs, entertainers and supervised play areas are often a feature. In the evenings, many parks lay on entertainment for everyone, like discos, concerts and shows.

When it comes to prices, these are usually set per unit, not per person. There will of course be many variables that will affect price, such as duration of stay, the size and type of accommodation and the season. Many holiday parks in Cornwall are open year round, and offer special rates in low season. Some also offer special packages with meals included, for example bed and breakfast or half board rates. A lot of parks also have pitches for those with their own camper van, motor home or tent.
